Advance IRB was started when a few key stakeholders agreed that a well known ethical case was enough to merit the formation of an organization designed to protect research participants and streamline clinical study timelines faced by organizations and researchers.  After a short time and lengthy discussions, the decision to form an IRB was finalized and the concept was formalized into who we are today.
